5 things customers hate hearing from you

Have you ever considered things you customers do not want to hear from you?

It is a question that is not hard to answer. Let’s walk through some things that you should avoid talking to your customers.

1. “I forget your name. Could you tell me it again?”

Why that's wrong: These questions show that you didn't listen carefully or that you did not care to remember the name of your customer.

What’s better: If you did not know your customer’s name, you should not reveal this in your question. You can ask “Could you spell your name, please?”. If you give this request, it means that  you want to make sure that you get the spelling correct.

2. "That's against our policy."

Why that's wrong: This sentence shows that you only think about yourself instead of your customers.

What’s better: Tell your customers what you can do. Do not tell what you can not.

3. “Let me schedule this for next morning. I can not talk with you now.”

Why that's wrong: This shows that you work by the clock and can not wait to get home. The most important is to indicate that you are not uncommitted worker to customer needs.

What’s better: Tell your customers that you meet their need even when it is closing time.

4. "That's not my job."

Why that's wrong: This indicates that you avoid solving customers’ problems and do not offer solutions from someone.

What’s better: Tell who can help your customers’ problems.

5. “Let me see when I am going to be in this area next week to schedule delivery.”

What’s wrong:  This indicates that your convenience was more important than  your customers’. It seems that you chose when will be most convenient for you and not for your customers.

What’s better: Ask your customers when will be most convenient for them.

How to Improve Online Sales?

If you are an online merchant, your only aim is to raise online sales. However, you do not what to do exactly. Test ways mentioned on an article on Entrepreneur.

Offer just one product or solution on your home page

Some online merchants think that the more there are products or solutions on their home pages the higher sales are. However, it is not completely right. Instead, you should focus one product that your visitors might care. Of course, you should offer other products by using follow-up offers,

Feature main benefits in your headline

In fact, the first thing visitors to your site see is your headline. Thus, you have to make your headline attractive. The most important thing is that it must compel visitors to read your offers. To have a successful headline, you should emphasis a problem your target audience deals with and highlight the main benefit of your product or solution in solving this problem.

Concentrate on your site visitors instead of yourself

Normally, business owners neglect to focus on readers. This rule is simple but important. Thus, check your website content.

Add images to boost your product's desirability

Your products or services can be more tangible to your visitors by adding images. However, you need to emphasis their benefits and values before you reveal exactly what they are. What is more, analyze carefully the positions of images.

Why is keeping your existing customers more important than getting new customers ?

If you are a seller, the most important thing is to selling products as many as possible. You will find all ways to improve productivity. In fact, we can not deny that getting new customers plays a very role in your business.

However, have you ever thought that keeping your existing customers more important than getting new customers? I am sure that you have ever done.

Why?

Blow are some main reasons why fostering your current customers is more important to your business.

Your brand is built

Keeping hold of existing customers  brings a lot associated benefits including they are likely to purchase other products from you. Because nurturing a lasting relationship with your current customers can make them trust you more. You easily offer other products even when they do not demand. This is obvious and known by any sellers.

Additionally, as a seller, you recognize that fostering your current customers is likely to introduce your products to others via word-of-mouth referrals. In fact, advertising is always less  convincing and believable than tips and tricks from friends or relatives on where to buy something good. Word-of-mouth referrals are really considered to be more objective than advertising by emails, brochures, or videos to get new  customers. In other words, fostering your current customers is likely to bring new customers. That is the reason why keeping your current customers needs to be a high priority.

Lifetime Value (LTV) is improved

According to Wiki, the Lifetime Value (LTV) is “a prediction of the net profit attributed to the entire future relationship with a customer”.

Image that a customer pays you $2000 today and then disappear while another one pays you $400 per month for 5 years. Of course, the second person brings more value to your business. That is why keep a lasting relationship with your customers when new customers  will have a low lifetime value.

Fostering your current customers is more cost efficient

Remarketing to existing customers is more cost effective than getting new customers. The reason is that costs related to marketing to new customers can be saved.

With the aim of providing an effective tool to help online merchants serve their customers better, PrestaMonster.com launches Quick Quote Tool Pro. It is designed for PrestaShop users where the buyers can raise their ideas, ask the seller for quote on pricing or discuss before purchasing.

Reasons why your customers lack the confidence to buy online?

With the rapid development of the Internet, shopping is easier than ever. You can stay at home but still can buy a item you like. Yes. Online shopping is really a good way to buy something. Thus, there are a lot of online merchants out there.

If you are one of these merchants, the first concern is know how to increase the numbers of orders as many as possible. However, after you start your business, you find that there are customers who lack the confidence to buy online. This is shown when they abandon their online shopping carts.

However, you need know reasons why they do so before finding ways to give them the confidence to buy online. Below are reasons I think they are important to those who start their ecommerce business.

Be afraid that your card  and personal  information are not protected

When your customer buys online, he or she fill some personal information. Of course, no one wants his or her personal information to be revealed. Thus, online purchase can cause your customer think that whether his or her card and personal information are protected or not. Even some customers wonder whether their information is sold to third parties or not. The reason is that in some cases, your customers receive spams on their emails or phones.

Be afraid that the payment is not safe

The payment security is also a concern for a lot of customers.  Especially, security is a hot topic on these days. You may know about 145 million users urged by eBay to change their passwords  after a cyber attack in 2014. As you know eBay is famous. Of course, security is not as important as we think. But your customers do not think so. They only know that they have to find online sites which ensure their payment be safe.

Is there any solution which you can use to give your customers the confidence to buy online?

Of course, yes. If you are running a PrestaShop store, you can choose Postpay Australia Post Pro coming from PrestaMonster.com. As a secure e-commerce solution, it helps you link your customers’ payment to the delivery of their parcel. With this solution, you who is a online merchant, and your customers enjoy various benefits. For more information, you can read Postpay Australia Post Pro: Link payment to delivery

Impacts of ecommerce fraud for online merchants

PrestaMonster.com - the best to optimize your e-business
Whatever the size and scope of your e-business are, PrestaMonster will give you tools to deal with a bunch of things from shipping, promotion to payment issues.
>> Website: PrestaMonster.com
You can not deny that the Internet has really made a great contribution on your business especially if you are an online merchant. However, there is a fact that a lot of online retailers have faced with ecommerce fraud.

But do you know that there were 7.9 million case of fraud worthing 1.16 millions euros in 2011 of which 56% took place in e-commerce (according to the European Central Bank)? Or do you know that e-commerce fraud costed merchants over $100 billion in total losses in 2012?

These figures tell many things. 56% shows that e-commerce merchants incurred the most fraud cases.  $100 billion is really a huge loss.

Impacts

The most obvious cost of ecommerce fraud is that there will be a dispute in term of charge even though the product is delivered and the payment is processed.

Furthermore, e-commerce fraud can cause other hidden costs to anti-fraud. They are the cost of decreased customer satisfaction, the cost of rejecting a valid customer who is considered to be suspicious but is valid, the direct and indirect costs due to e-commerce fraud, and the cost of the compensation for anti-fraud employees.

Additionally, online merchants have to bear the chargebacks. BCW indicates that chargebacks can be insidious. The reason is that rates more than 1.5% can cause large fines from MasterCard Visa or in the short term as well as lost merchant accounts in the long term.

Thus, minimising fraud is as  important as maximising accepted orders.

But how to reduce fraud?

If you know e-commerce fraud and run a PrestaShop store, you will need a solution to minimise fraud.
And PrestaMonter understand your need and launches a tool to help to reduce fraud. It is Postpay Australia Post Pro. One of the features of the product is that fraud reduction. This helps you avoid credit card chargebacks.

Customer Lifetime Value: A Step-by-Step Guide

PrestaMonster.com - effective and fun modules for ecommerce business
To reduce the potential risks and enhance the ease in aspects like Shipping, Payment and Promotion. That are the reasons of PrestaMonster’s existence >> Website: PrestaMonster.com
According to research, the top 1% of your customers spends 30x more than your average customers. That means if you draw a line dividing customers into the top and bottom halves — one of your very best customers will spend more than everyone below the line added together. As a consequence, you want to acquire someone who will become one of these big shoppers.

To find the campaigns which net the best ROI, you need to know which campaigns are attracting the most profitable customers. In other words, they are people with high Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). CLV is the single most important metric you have to evaluate marketing performance. It’s defined as the sum of all the purchases a customer makes with you. By incorporating this metric into your ROI calculations, you’ll find the campaigns that help you acquire your most profitable customers.

But your ROI calculations might be wrong. WHY?

The traditional ROI formula isn’t good enough because it measures revenue based on first transaction alone.
ROI = (dollars in revenue)/(dollars spent) – 1

0301.png

These figures don’t incorporate the full purchase history of customers acquired through each campaign. This makes it impossible to tell which campaign is bringing in your most profitable customers. You want your ROI calculations to include the full Lifetime Value of customers.

0302.png

Then how to calculate ROI the Right Way?

Fire up your spreadsheet and get ready to calculate ROI the right way. And the following is a step-by-step guide to do so.
1. Grab the information you’ll need
Ad Spend Data by Campaign: Most ad platforms give you the ability to export data on campaign performance and spend. Unfortunately, you’ll have to download each report separately and combine them by hand if you use multiple ad platforms.
Order Data: You order data is likely sitting in the same source as your customer data. Make sure you can get your hands on it and that it includes order amount and order date.
Customer Data: (including customer acquisition source and campaign) You probably have access to your customer data; you’ll also need to know the acquisition source for each of them.

2. Organize your spreadsheet
You’ll want to set up four tabs in your spreadsheet. The first will include your ad spend data, the second will include customer data, the third will be orders data, and the fourth will be where you’ll conduct your ROI calculations. Here is how each of these tabs should look:

0303.png
3. Calculate CLV for each customer
In the customers tab use this SUMIF statement to calculate the CLV for each of your customers
=sumif(orders!$B$2:$B$1001,A2,orders!$C$2:$C$1001)

4. Calculate spend for each campaign
In your campaign performance tab use this SUMIF statement to calculate spend for each campaign
=sumif(‘ad spend’!$B$2:$B$121,A2,’ad spend’!$C$2:$C$121)

5. Calculate CLV by campaign
In your campaign performance tab use this SUMIF statement to calculate spend for each campaign
=sumif(customers!$B$2:$B$29,A2,customers!$C$2:$C$29)

6. Calculate ROI for each campaign
Now comes the fun part. In your campaign performance tab, use this formula to calculate ROI for each campaign

0304.png

= (C2-B2)/B2

The Results
With this data, you can allocate your marketing budget with confidence. You’ll know that the money you spend won’t just be bringing in one-time buyers, but lifetime customers.

The best way to keep your customers with you is to listen to them. It’s always good to do so. Your customers might give you valuable ideas that you and your teammate haven’t thought about. And they will let you know what their budget to the goods is, so that you can balance and a better understand on the demands. PrestaMonster.com understands the significant contribution of customers to a business, especially an ecommerce, so it provides you the tool named Quick Quote Tool Pro which is able to support your customer service.

How To Optimize Images Produced in PrestaShop

Finding: products images are not so optimized. The pictures produced in PrestaShop are optimized by default from the moment you activate the URL rewriting . Are obtained SEO friendly urls with the default name of the product as the image name. Rather, it is a good start.
The problem we will meet soon when a product has several pictures is that the pictures have the same filename as follows: produit.jpg-name. It is not ideal if you want to index, the greater number of product images in Google Images.

Solution: rename image in PrestaShop
To rename the names of images known to your .tpl including the product. tpl, we have to apply an override. We will build on what exists is the possibility to choose an image name via the legend already in place in the back office.
Then we set up a override the Class link.php to copy it simply:

class Link extends LinkCore
{
/**
* Cleans out a text and strip potentially dangerous tags.
* @since 3.0
**/
function toAscii($str, $replace=array(), $delimiter='-') {
if( !empty($replace) ) {
$str = str_replace((array)$replace, ' ', $str);
}
$clean = iconv('UTF-8', 'ASCII//TRANSLIT', $str);
$clean = preg_replace("/[^a-zA-Z0-9\/_|+ -]/", '', $clean);
$clean = strtolower(trim($clean, '-'));
$clean = preg_replace("/[\/_|+ -]+/", $delimiter, $clean);
return $clean;
}
/**
* Returns a link to a product image for display
* Note: the new image filesystem stores product images in subdirectories of img/p/
*
* @param string $name rewrite link of the image
* @param string $ids id part of the image filename - can be "id_product-id_image" (legacy support, recommended) or "id_image" (new)
* @param string $type
*/
public function getImageLink($name, $ids, $type = null, $legend = null)
{
$not_default = false;
// legacy mode or default image
$theme = ((Shop::isFeatureActive() && file_exists(_PS_PROD_IMG_DIR_.$ids.($type ? '-'.$type : '').'-'.(int)Context::getContext()->shop->id_theme.'.jpg')) ? '-'.Context::getContext()->shop->id_theme : '');
if ((Configuration::get('PS_LEGACY_IMAGES')
&& (file_exists(_PS_PROD_IMG_DIR_.$ids.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'.jpg')))
|| ($not_default = strpos($ids, 'default') !== false))
{
if ($this->allow == 1 && !$not_default)
$uri_path = __PS_BASE_URI__.$ids.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'/'.$name.'.jpg';
else
$uri_path = _THEME_PROD_DIR_.$ids.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'.jpg';
}
else
{
// if ids if of the form id_product-id_image, we want to extract the id_image part
$cleanlegend = $this->toAscii($legend);
$split_ids = explode('-', $ids);
$id_image = (isset($split_ids[1]) ? $split_ids[1] : $split_ids[0]);
$theme = ((Shop::isFeatureActive() && file_exists(_PS_PROD_IMG_DIR_.Image::getImgFolderStatic($id_image).$id_image.($type ? '-'.$type : '').'-'.(int)Context::getContext()->shop->id_theme.'.jpg')) ? '-'.Context::getContext()->shop->id_theme : '');
if ($this->allow == 1)
if($legend)
$uri_path = __PS_BASE_URI__.$id_image.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'/'.$id_image.'-'.$cleanlegend.'.jpg';
else
$uri_path = __PS_BASE_URI__.$id_image.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'/'.$id_image.'-'.$name.'.jpg';
else
$uri_path = _THEME_PROD_DIR_.Image::getImgFolderStatic($id_image).$id_image.($type ? '-'.$type : '').$theme.'.jpg';
}
return $this->protocol_content.Tools::getMediaServer($uri_path).$uri_path;
}
}
We took care to indicate that if the picture has a caption, so it will be used for the name of the image, and that this legend will be treated and cleaned (via this script: https://gist.github.com/chluehr/1632883) that comes out a name of optimized image.
Finally, we will edit the theme used product. tpl file and apply changes in attribute src and href images and thumbnails in the product description.
For the main picture …
0102-1.png
And for miniature …
0102-2.png
That's it, your product pictures each have a unique name and are called by this single url enabling robots to have images to locate several key words or phrases potential.

Along with SEO, a good customer service also helps to attract and engage with your prospective. And PrestaMonster.com provides you Quick Quote Tool Pro which would help to gain the quality and efficiency of your comnunication with customers. Enjoy!!!
